So the last post I had narrated a story of this lady who went ahead without checking with anyone with somebody else's diet plan. I have now counselled her and am on a verge of planning her diet. Metabolism as I had mentioned earlier varies from individual to individual, influencing the body fat percentage and likewise the lean body mass. Your stamina and strength all depend on what fat percentage does your body hold and the lean body mass as well. Trust me looks are decieving. How? Well for starters a thin looking person need not be actually thin on the contrary can be categorized as a fat person based on the fat percentage. I have witnessed many people in my career who appear to be lean but are bulky and fat in reality. This particular tendency is far more hazarous than the one where you look overweight. So people who don't bother to workout just because they appear to be in shape....have I got a bad news for you?
So how is this tendency more hazardous ? let me explain. Its all comes down to human psychology, you wouldn't take pain of working out if you already look good enough but on the other hand you wouldn't mind stretching yourself to a breaking limit if you carried excess baggage and had to look a desired way. In other words when you unaware of a problem why will you rush for a solution, instead you'd make merry and have a party. Hidden fat is dangerous on levels of inadequate stamina, muscular strength, bone strength, flexibility, immunity, stress levels, also to some extent sleep cycles. Considering that each criteria of health in our body is influential to the next criteria it becomes into a domino effect ulimately.
More body fat and less lean mass leads to insufficient breathing cells in the body, which means less oxygen utilization and therfore less aerobic (normal oxygen usage) activity, leading to either lack of activity or anaerobic (in the absence of oxygen) breakdown of energy source leading to acidity in the blood or muscles in totality the body. Carrying excess dead weight is no good news whether you appear to be in shape or you don't. So henceforth when you look yourself in a mirror don't judge blindly check out if you are thin or not by getting a body composition check up done before you start a fitness or health regime. More on body fat and lean mass in detail for later till then watch this blog and log in tommorow to find out more.
Wish you Wellness.
